Kindred Spirit (2018) Colour digital print on paper, 150 x 300cm
Of all the technological imaginings from the last 100 years, it is perhaps the humanoid robot that has captured our imagination most powerfully; its role has ranged from domestic slave, to erotic companion, to existential threat. In the 21st century, the robot is present but unseen; it is the computer algorithm, the machine assembly arm. However the anthropomorphic robot still eludes us and the original fictional characters continue to haunt our fantasies and fears.
