GNÖM (pronounced Noom)

Plywood, wood, found objects, stained filler, rusted iron paint, milk paint

40 x 19 x 7cm and 50 x 15 x 9cm

Household god of the inexplicable mains power trip in the middle of the night.

Here represented in two forms; the small idol being a representation of the younger deity. Both are made as maquettes of large scale effigies of the god on wheeled carriages for the annual village procession known widely as Upprisa. The full scale carriage would be built by the local cartwright at no small expense to the householder.
